Dream Boots

The sandal-loving summer months see boots retreat from our fashion sphere. However, now that the clouds are rolling in and bare feet feel inappropriate, our more cumbersome cover ups are re-emerging on the catwalks. This autumn/winter boots have had a rather fancy facelift. We knew that it wouldn’t be long but designers have surpassed our expectations and conjured up the boots of dreams. Longer, higher, wider and satisfactorily saturated - boots have blossomed into accoutrements brimming with attitude. They are the perfect partnering for the more sober template making its mark on the fashion scene. Whilst we’re welcoming this pared-down aesthetic it would be wrong to shun the element of fantasy that has remained intrinsic to fashion. Whilst clothes are representing the new unfussy femininity boots are projecting that unconventional desirability that keeps fashion fun.

Christian Dior unveiled buckle bedecked boots and stud lined soles that championed a ruling utilitarian vibe. Tommy Hilfiger celebrated the over-knee styles with lashings of lace. This particular style is predicted to be the indispensable boot of the coming seasons and why not? If you have oodles of patience to configure lengths of lace then make these you’re A/W perennial. Burberry Prorsum also delighted with sheepskin lined calf- huggers – the perfect pair to enliven this season’s wealth of coats. Python skin boots also added panache amongst a procession of tough-luxe Dior footwear.

We can certainly say that boots of all shapes and sizes are rife this autumn/winter. Kurt Geiger, Topshop and Zara are just a few design-led high-street stalwarts mimicking the fashionable foot candy. What ever style you opt for ensure that your pair upstages any outfit because, this season, It's all about boots.
